Fire Element – Heart – Week 28

I’ve noticed that my own heart tends to be more sensitive during the summer months. If you’ve ever experienced a racing heartbeat, occasional dizziness, restlessness, or difficulty sleeping when the weather gets hot, you’re not alone.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, the Fire Element is most active during summer.

If Heart energy is already imbalanced, symptoms may become more noticeable during this season.

Modern physiology offers a similar explanation. Heat causes blood vessels to dilate, increases fluid loss through perspiration, and places additional demands on the cardiovascular system.

This week, pay attention to what your body is telling you. Are you staying hydrated? Are you getting enough rest? Are you pushing yourself too hard? Sometimes our symptoms are simply messages asking us to slow down and provide the support our bodies need.
